Terms of Service

The service

Skillia provides school software — a website and an Android app — to schools under an agreement with each school. Individual accounts (staff, pupils, parents) are created by or on behalf of a school and exist to use the platform for that school’s purposes.

Accounts

Keep your sign-in details to yourself. Schools set first passwords and hand them over directly; change yours after first sign-in. A pupil’s account is for that pupil’s learning; a parent’s account shows only their own children. You may ask for your account to be closed at any time at /account-deletion.

Acceptable use

No attempting to access another person’s records, no probing the security of the service, no uploading unlawful content, and no using AI features to generate content unrelated to schooling. Schools may suspend accounts that break these rules.

School content

Material teachers upload stays the school’s. Skillia uses it only to operate the features the school asked for — for example, letting the tutor answer from it. We claim no ownership.

AI output

AI-generated drafts are assistance, not decisions. Marks, recommendations and reports become real only when a member of staff approves them. Tutor replies are help with learning, not marks, and any reply can be reported from inside the app.

Trials and payment

New schools receive a free trial. Continued use after the trial requires an agreement with us. We do not delete a school’s data at trial end — access pauses until the school decides.

Availability and liability

We aim for continuous service but do not promise it; schools should not treat the platform as their only copy of legally required records. To the extent permitted by the Australian Consumer Law, our liability is limited to re-supplying the service. Nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot be excluded.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
